This may belong better in computer board but anyone know of any accessible reasonably priced tablet type things. I'm going to another country for vacation and am not willing to bring a phone can't bring a big bulky computer but still want to do stuff. I am looking around at choices know of ipods already but there's gotta be accessibility in more than just apple.

i haven't really heard of any other tablets that would be useable enough. sure android is making some now but no idea on their status or just how friendly they are. Best bet is still the IPad for the time being.

So far the Asus transformer with Icecream sandwidge and a few tablits are a good option but make sure they have Icecream sandwige no less then that for the most use of the tablit. I belong to the eys-free mailing list, go read past reports and check out that android show "J J Medof" has a tablit that seems to work for him.

Just avoid the ePad, an Android Tablet from China. I don't know about the Android OS on it, but its hardware is attrocious, to Walmart proportions.
I should be fair to Walmart, in the past couple years after taking the justifiable beat-down in the electronics space they've finally got it through the hubcap hard-hat and thick skull that electronics parts are not something you shortchange on.
But anyway the ePad's components isolation is slim to none, which means the device literally gets hot. I mean burn-your-leg hot. It cost less than a hundred dollars for a reason. At this stage, until we have better nanotechnology and organic technology in mainstream power dispersal / storage, you won't get a safe device for a hundred bucks that has all the hardware capabilities of a $600 iPad, meaning wi fi, 3g, Bluetooth and in their case an external SD slot like most Android devices have.
Its screen surface, and bottom chassis cover, were both made of cheap plastic. That thing would definitely burn down somebody's doublewide.
